Automotive glass inspection has become more challenging due to strict constraints for size and shape.
At the heart of the Xac AIIM (Automotive Glass Inline Inspection Machine) is the CHRocodile MPS 96, an optical multipoint sensor with 96 individual channels and an acquisition rate of 2 kHz/channel. Optical probes with 10mm measuring range are connected to each channel. By delivering the shape and thickness of a piece of automotive glass in just 0.5 milliseconds the CHRocodile MPS 96 easily outperforms tactile systems.
To fulfill mandatory quality demands for windshields, the CHRocodile 2 IT series enables analysis of physical properties, i.e. measuring all layer thicknesses in laminated glass. Larger areas, such as the projection region of Head-Up Displays, can be scanned quickly with the measuring rate of 70 kHz.
